research on non-geographic numbers (i.e. 08, 09 and 118)

Ofcom has published three pieces of research as part of its work on simplifying non-geographic numbers (for example 08, 09 and 118 numbers) including:

  • consumer research looking at consumers’ awareness of the cost of calling non-geographic numbers;
  • international comparisons of the way consumers are charged for calls to these numbers in other countries; and
  • a survey of service providers to understand their use of 080 and 0845 numbers.
