“I’d like to know whether from my home town (Warrington) it will always be cheaper to dial a firm in Bristol using their local rate (0845) number, as opposed to using their 0117 (Bristol) code. Any advice gratefully received.”
reply: “it depends on your telecoms supplier – some charge 0845 numbers at BT standard local call rates, some at a lower rate, and some include it with an inclusive package – although most don’t. So if you have a package which includes all National rate calls in the monthly fee but charges for 0845 calls then using the geographic number will be cheaper.”
PS – I should have added that the new ’03′ range of numbers(ie 0345) should be charged at the same rate as the suppliers standard rate and/or included in packages.
