OLO - Other Licensed Operator
Companies other than BT (and Kingston Communications in the Hull area) which operate telecoms systems.
ON-LINE or ONLINE
Where a customer is directly linked via a distribution network to a server, enabling him/her to interact with the server at any time. Covers services available over the Internet, but also access over other networks, EDI, bulletin boards and other dial-up or remote access services.
OPEN ACCESS
Where a network operator grants access to a network to any service provider who may reasonably request it, such as by BT to other licensed operators.
OTELO
The Office of the Telecommunications Ombudsman (otelo) - investigates consumer complaints against telecoms operators who have signed-up to the otelo procedure.
