Originally, TelecomsAdvice was funded by Oftel (now Ofcom) and several large sponsors who continue to pay £5000 each per year to support the initiative and have their logos displayed.
These main sponsors benefit from brand awareness, advertising to small business consumers, page-rank enhancing links and enquiries though clicked links. There is also the positive PR value of supporting TelecomsAdvice in partnership with government and SME consumer organisations such as the DTI Small Business Service, British Chambers of Commerce, Federation of Small Businesses, Forum for Private Business and several professional and trade associations.
Main sponsors now have keyword linked text ads, impression and click thru' stats, and tracking/order conversion code included.
Telecomsadvice is a reference encyclopaedia for telecoms/ICT users not a magazine for 'techies'. Our visitors are typically looking for solutions and come to us through links from trade associations and similar sources rather than through mass advertising. They are highly targeted. Try a search for 'UK small business telecoms' in Google - we will be top or very close to it!
Now a wider range of suppliers can benefit from targeted, keyword related, cost-per-click (CPC), per 1000 impressions (CPM) or per day (CPD) text ads at rates that are better value than Google.
- All rates are shown in this interface after registration, before ads are created and before any payment is required. Rates are in GBP (£) and exclude UK VAT where applicable unless otherwise stated. Advertisers can pay through this interface using a credit card for immediate credit and electronic receipt, or order by 'phone, email, fax or post and we will credit their account and invoice them manually. For manual invoicing, credit prior to receipt of payment is subject to status - use the 'contact us' link on the left in the first instance.
- Text ads are available at pay-per-click (CPC), per 1000 impressions (CPM), per day (CPD) or per order (CPO) rates. Multiple clicks or impressions from the same computer within 60 minutes are not counted or charged.
- After registration advertisers can create as many different keyword related text ads linked to different URLs as they like. Ads can be edited, deleted, paused or (if required) scheduled by hours and days of the week at no extra charge.
- Ads have to have keywords configured for them by the advertiser at or after creation and will only show on pages carrying relevant keywords - and only if the advertiser's account is in credit.
- As long as an account is in credit, CPC includes unlimited impressions over unlimited time, CPM includes unlimited clicks over unlimited time, CPD includes unlimited clicks and impressions. CPO is for main sponsors and includes all clicks and impressions for logo banners and multiple text ads for a year. Click, impression, order conversion and cost statistics are available through the interface and advertisers can change the charging basis for their ads (CPC/CPM/CPD) at any time by pausing or deleting an ad and recreating it in a different 'zone', or by becoming a main sponsor.
- Minimum amount for advertisers to credit to their accounts through the interface each time is £235.00.
- Logo/banner main sponsors can add as many keyword related text ads linked to different URLs as they like and will continue to be invoiced at £5000.00 + VAT where applicable per annum including all impressions and clicks. Alternatively, main sponsors can opt to be debited per click/impression. At current traffic levels we calculate that the annual payment would be an approximate average 30% discount on the CPM and CPC rates. Main sponsors can check this through the stats reports and transfer to an impression/clicks basis on request.
- In the event of a rate increase we will apply a notional credit the balance of accounts at the same percentage as the rate increase.
- Refunds or credits are at the discretion of Crucible Multimedia Ltd. but will not be unreasonably withheld.
